The museum building was originally a convent. It includes a reconstructed traditional anatomical theatre. It also has many galleries. Shown are the apparatus with which Heike Kamerlingh Onnes first liquefied helium and the electromagnet equipment used by Wander Johannes de Haas for his low-temperature research. Also an example of the Leiden jar is among the many objects in the collection.
